"We could see from the website that the home would be special and it really lived up to our expectations and beyond. From the Guest Book left in the house we could see that our experience had been mirrored by all the previous renters no matter the time of year. South Barn has everything, a great location for privacy and peace and yet within close driving distance of so many wonderful places to visit. Just bring yourself because the home has everything you will need even if your stay is part of a large family gathering. This was our second time in Devon and we loved how easy it was to get around from South Barn. In under 30 minutes there are at least a dozen completely different villages to visit all with something special to offer.
There are a couple of great boat trips, steam train journeys, delightful farmers markets all within the vicinity. Of course if you make a longer journey then there is the English Riviera, Dartmoor, the Tamar Valley... I could go on an on - just pick an information leaflet from the basket at breakfast time and go - you will not be disappointed and may like us end up with a basket full of wonderful memories."

"Large and spacious with two superb lounges and dining area. Plenty of room for all the family. We had ages 86 down to 6 years old in our family group and it was perfect for everyone. What also impressed us was how well equipped the barn was and also the lovely outside garden areas. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to other people especially those wanting a large family holiday. There was also plenty of local information about the area, attractions and restaurants provided in the barn and by the owner prior to our visit which was all very helpful. We would definitely stay there again when we are next in Devon."

"Immaculate holiday cottage in a quiet beautiful location in South Devon. The property is clean, well equipped with anything even the largest party may require from kitchen utensils, cutlery to childrens' indoor and outdoor toys, TV, DVDs etc., all of excellent quality. We found all the local attractions easily accessible from the house and the most beautiful beaches are only a short drive away. The owners organised all aspects of our arrival and departure smoothly and provided relevant and abundant information about local attractions. Just looking at the photo when writing this review makes me want to return."

"A wonderfully warm and welcoming home with oodles of space for the 10 of us over Christmas time. It was completely equipped for every possible need, a real boon for all the christmas fare that was prepared. The position was fantastic within walking distance of the beach but not too far to go into Kingsbridge. Also many wonderful walking routes in the countryside.
We would imagine it would be lovely in the summertime as well with the field and lovely garden.
A good time was had by all. Excellent facilities and beautiful countryside for walking. We had a wonderful Christmas Day starting with bucks fizz and games on Beesands beach. The weather was a bonus. Thank-you."

"We felt instantly at home upon arriving at the South Barn.  The living area is extremely spacious with an attractive wood burning stove which separates the living area into two usable spaces, and which was great on a couple of cold nights.  The kitchen has all the mod con's you'd expect to find, and leads to an open plan dining area that has more than ample seating for our family.  The rooms are tastefully furnished and our en suite bathroom was much appreciated.  The bed was extremely comfortable.  The real beauty of South Barn, however is the location - with plenty of opportunities to walk in rolling countryside, as well as being a pleasant walk or quick drive to the local beach.  The shops and facilities in the area are great for artisan food and produce, we made a tasty risotto one night from locally caught fish purchased from an amazing local fishmonger.   All in all a great place for idyllic family holidays or a quiet retreat from your hectic everyday life. "

"We had a wonderful time at South Barn – it offers the perfect combination of rural peace and comfort. The surroundings are idyllic - from the beautifully landscaped field at the back to the rolling hills all around, with only the sound of birds and sheep to interrupt the silence. The barn itself is spacious and tastefully decorated, with all the home comforts a family needs – from TV and board games, to a log-burning stove and a well-equipped kitchen. The spectacular views are an added bonus. It’s ideally situated to enjoy the local area – we went on cliff walks, beach picnics and visits to the pretty nearby villages, as well as a delicious meal in a cosy country pub. I can recommend South Barn wholeheartedly and intend to come back at the first opportunity."
